REMEDIAL MASSAGE

Remedial massage therapists employ a number of treatment modalities for use in pain management for chronic musculoskeletal conditions, postural conditions and sporting and occupational injuries.

Treatment incorporates a number of techniques, which allow the therapist to tailor treatments to meet individual needs. In addition to manual manipulation therapy, treatment can include: myofascial dry needling, electrical stimulations (TENS) and corrective exercises.

Techniques such as trigger point therapy and myofascial release target specific areas to relieve pain and tension while muscle energy techniques and stretching increase mobility and range of movement. Remedial massage has a number of benefits including the alleviation of pain and anxiety, improved flexibility, and reduction in scar tissue.  Regular massage can help prevent injury for sports people and reduce recovery time.

Lymphatic drainage, which is a feather-soft oil free technique, addresses hormonal bloating, fluid retention, and general feelings of malaise.  It assists in clearing toxins from the body and helps boost the immune system.

Pregnancy massage is specifically designed to help relieve the muscular aches associated with pregnancy and to relax both mother and baby.
